FUNCTIONAL PATTERNS
Train with intention. Integrate, don't isolate.
"Build a body that moves efficiently, feels resilient, and performs in everyday life."
Functional Patterns is a movement-based training methodology founded in 2006 by CEO Naudi Aguilar designed to improve the way your body moves in everyday life. Rather than focusing on isolated muscles, it develops whole-body coordination, strength and movement efficiency through integrated training.
Modern lifestyles often involve prolonged sitting, repetitive movements and limited variety in how we move. Over time, these habits can contribute to stiffness, inefficient movement patterns and persistent pain. Functional Patterns aims to restore more natural movement mechanics by improving the way your body works as a complete system. This aligns with the philosophy that movement quality is closely linked to long-term health and physical resilience.
What does functional patterns focus on?
Training is built around the movement patterns humans rely on every day:
- Walking
- Running
- Rotating
- Reaching and throwing
- Balance and coordination
- Efficient posture and force transfer
The goal isn’t simply to become stronger—it’s to become more capable, more efficient and more resilient in the way you move.
Is functional patterns right for me?
FP training is suitable for everyone who wants to:
- Improve posture and movement quality
- Reduce recurring aches and pains
- Build strength that transfers to everyday life and sport

“After more than 20 years as a physiotherapist, I was continually searching for a system that better connected rehabilitation with long-term movement development. Functional Patterns challenged many of my existing ideas and provided a practical framework for understanding how the whole body works together. It has become an important part of how I help people move more efficiently, reduce unnecessary compensation, and build lasting resilience.”
